Alparslan: The Great Seljuks is a Turkish historical drama series that premiered in 2021, and is a sequel to the successful series Diriliş: Ertuğrul (Resurrection: Ertuğrul). Set in the 11th century, the show centers around the rise of Sultan Alparslan, one of the most iconic figures in Turkish and Islamic history, who played a key role in the Seljuk Empire’s expansion and its subsequent dominance over the Byzantine Empire. Alparslan: The Great Seljuks follows the life and military campaigns of Sultan Alparslan (portrayed by Baran Akbulut), focusing on his journey as a leader and warrior, as well as his battles against the Byzantine Empire.
