The Chronicles of Riddick (2004)

“The Chronicles of Riddick,” directed by David Twohy and starring Vin Diesel in the iconic role of Richard B. Riddick, is a sprawling science fiction epic that expands upon the universe introduced in the cult classic “Pitch Black.” Released in 2004, the film takes audiences on a thrilling journey through exotic planets, interstellar politics, and cosmic battles, while delving deeper into the enigmatic character of Riddick.
The story picks up with Riddick on the run from mercenaries seeking the bounty on his head. His solitary existence is disrupted when he learns of a new threat to the galaxy: the Necromongers, a religious zealotry led by the enigmatic Lord Marshal (played by Colm Feore).
The Necromongers seek to convert or destroy all civilizations in their path, wielding immense power and advanced technology. Riddick becomes entangled in the conflict as he discovers clues about his own mysterious past and his connection to an ancient prophecy.
