The Croods: A New Age (2020) is an animated adventure-comedy film and the sequel to The Croods (2013), produced DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. Directed by Joel Crawford, the film continues the story of the prehistoric Crood family as they face new challenges, meet new characters, and navigate the changing world around them.

The Croods: A New Age picks up where the first film left off, following the Crood family—Grug (Nicolas Cage), Eep (Emma Stone), Ugga (Catherine Keener), Thunk (Clarke Duke), Sandy (Kailey Crawford), and Gran (Cloris Leachman)—as they journey through the ancient world in search of a safer place to call home. They stumble upon a walled-in paradise, where they encounter a more advanced family, the Bettermans, who have created a supposedly perfect life for themselves.

This new family dynamic leads to hilarious, and often tense, clashes between the Croods and the Bettermans, as both families must learn to accept each other’s differences and work together to overcome a new threat that jeopardizes their survival.
