Ice Age: The Meltdown is the second installment in the Ice Age franchise, directed by Carlos Saldanha. Released in 2006, this animated adventure-comedy continues the story of Manny, Sid, and Diego as they face a new environmental challenge. The story picks up as the Ice Age is coming to an end. The animals of the valley discover that the massive ice dam holding back a large body of water is on the verge of breaking, threatening to flood their home. Manny, the woolly mammoth, along with Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger, set off on a journey to find a safer place.

During their adventure, Manny meets Ellie, a female mammoth who believes she is a possum, along with her “brothers,” Crash and Eddie, two mischievous possums. While Manny grapples with his fear of being the last mammoth, the group must also confront their personal challenges, including Diego’s fear of water and Sid’s desire for respect.
