The Plot:

Set in the 1870s, Butcher’s Crossing follows Will Andrews (played by Fred Hechinger), a young, idealistic Harvard dropout who heads west in search of a deeper meaning in life. His journey leads him to Butcher’s Crossing, a small, remote town where he meets a rugged and enigmatic buffalo hunter named Miller (played by Nicolas Cage).

Miller, along with his companions, invites Will to join them on an expedition to hunt buffalo deep in the wilderness, offering him the chance to escape the constraints of civilization and experience true freedom.
