 Story Overview

In a quiet, upper-class suburban town, Dr. Evelyn Hart (Rachel Weisz), a respected psychologist, is drawn into a scandalous and dangerous web when a new patient—a troubled teenager named Lena Vaughn (Saoirse Ronan)—confesses to witnessing something horrific involving Evelyn’s own husband.

As Evelyn digs deeper into Lena’s cryptic memories, she uncovers a twisted network of lies, abuse, and long-buried sins that tie together her patients, family, and her own past. Every truth she exposes comes at a devastating personal cost—and the lines between healer and victim, innocence and guilt, quickly begin to blur.

The town’s veneer of perfection starts to crack, and Evelyn must decide whether to protect her reputation or risk everything to uncover the truth behind a taboo no one dares to speak of.
