Plot Summary

After victory comes reckoning.

Following the events of The Woman King (2022), General Nanisca has led the Agojie to newfound strength and respect across the Dahomey kingdom. But peace is short-lived. In 1825, a powerful European coalition returns with vengeance in mind โ€” armed with modern weapons, enslavers, and political puppets seeking to undermine Dahomey’s sovereignty.

Now older and wiser, Nanisca must train a new generation of warrior women, including her daughter Nawi, to stand against a much greater threat: one that threatens not just their freedom, but their identity, culture, and the very soul of Africa.

As war looms, alliances are tested, bloodlines revealed, and a traitor walks among them.
