Best of the Best (1989)

Five American fighters make their way to Korea for an international martial arts tournament, where they face opponents who are much ahead of them in terms of technique and skills.
Produced by and starring Phillip Rhee this movie is very loosely based on his own experiences during his fighting days and it’s one of my most watched martial arts movies. With a great plot, some very well choreographed fight sequences, a good soundtrack and great performances from a talented cast including Eric Roberts, James Earl Jones, Chris Penn, John Dye, David Agresta, Tom Everett, Sally Kirkland, Louise Fletcher, Hee II Cho, James Lew, Ken Nagayama, Ahmad Rashad, Simon Rhee and small role for Kane Hodder. Whilst this movie wasn’t received upon its release it’s gained a mass.
