Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) is the sequel to the hugely popular Home Alone (1990), directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, who finds himself once again separated from his family during the holiday season, this time while they are on their way to Florida. Instead of being left at home, Kevin accidentally boards a plane to New York City, where his adventure begins.
The plot follows Kevin as he gets lost in the bustling city, initially enjoying the freedom and luxury of a stay in the Plaza Hotel. However, his excitement quickly turns into a new adventure when he runs into the infamous burglars, Harry (played by Joe Pesci) and Marv (played by Daniel Stern), who are now out on parole and planning to rob a toy store. Kevin, using his wit and resourcefulness, once again defends himself and others from the criminals, setting up an elaborate series of pranks and traps to foil their plans.
Home Alone 2 is filled with slapstick humor, featuring Kevin’s creative, over-the-top methods of dealing with the villains, which were a hallmark of the first film. As the movie progresses, Kevin forms a bond with a kind pigeon lady (played by Brenda Fricker) in Central Park, further emphasizing the film’s message about kindness and the spirit of Christmas.
The film’s setting in New York City adds a new level of charm and adventure, with iconic locations like Central Park, the Plaza Hotel, and Rockefeller Center serving as memorable backdrops for the action. The sequel follows a similar formula to the original, mixing family-friendly comedy with heartfelt moments.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York became a holiday classic, beloved by fans of the original film, and was a major commercial success. Though it is often viewed as a less inventive sequel than the first film, it still maintains much of the same humor and holiday magic that made the first movie a hit
