Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) is an action-packed, family-friendly adventure film directed by Jeff Fowler. It is a sequel to the successful Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) film, which introduced audiences to the iconic blue speedster from the popular Sega video game series. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) is living with Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter) in Green Hills, Montana. Feeling a bit restless and eager to prove himself as a true hero, Sonic dreams of tackling larger challenges. His opportunity arises when the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) returns, this time with a powerful new ally, Knuckles the Echidna (voiced by Idris Elba).

Dr. Robotnik teams up with Knuckles in an attempt to obtain the Master Emerald, a powerful gemstone capable of granting immense power.
