The Edge is a gripping survival thriller directed Lee Tamahori, starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. Set against the harsh and unforgiving wilderness of Alaska, the film combines elements of adventure, psychological tension, and a fight for survival, as two men are forced to confront their own fears and flaws in order to stay alive.
The film centers around Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins), a wealthy and intellectual businessman who is accompanied by his wife, Mickey (Elle Macpherson), and photographer Bob (Alec Baldwin) on a remote trip to Alaska. When their plane crashes in the wilderness, they are stranded in one of the most inhospitable environments on earth, forced to rely on their instincts and limited resources for survival.
As the trio navigates the unforgiving terrain, they are hunted by a massive, territorial Kodiak bear. Tensions begin to rise between the characters as the struggle for survival intensifies. Charles, a man of intellect but lacking physical survival skills, must rely on his wits and his ability to lead, while Bob, a more brash and physical character, must confront his own insecurities and the jealousy he feels towards Charles, especially in regards to his relationship with Mickey.
