Known for its eerie atmosphere and disturbing imagery, Silent Hill is one of the more faithful video game adaptations, capturing the unsettling tone and visuals of its source material.
The film follows Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell), a mother desperately searching for answers to her adopted daughter Sharon’s (Jodelle Ferland) sleepwalking and night terrors. Against her husband Christopher’s (Sean Bean) wishes, Rose takes Sharon to the mysterious town of Silent Hill, which Sharon often mentions in her sleep.
As they approach the town, a car accident leaves Rose unconscious, and when she awakens, Sharon is missing.
Rose finds herself in the deserted and fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill, where reality bends and horrific creatures roam the streets. With the help of a determined police officer, Cybil Bennett (Laurie Holden), Rose embarks on a nightmarish journey to find her daughter. Along the way, she uncovers the dark history of Silent Hill, the twisted beliefs of a fanatical cult, and the horrifying truth about Sharon’s origins.
