Lethal Weapon 5 (2023)

Years have passed since LAPD detectives Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) last worked together. Now retired, Murtaugh enjoys a quiet life with his family, while Riggs struggles with a sense of purpose after losing his wife. However, when a ruthless international arms dealer resurfaces in Los Angeles, leaving a trail of destruction, Captain Cole (Rene Russo) pulls the legendary duo out of retirement for one last mission.

The case takes a personal turn when Murtaugh’s son, now an FBI agent, is taken hostage in a deadly arms smuggling conspiracy. Forced back into the action, Riggs and Murtaugh reunite with their old ally Leo Getz (Joe Pesci) and face off against a new generation of criminals led by a merciless ex-Black Ops soldier (played by a new villain actor, possibly Scott Adkins or Jason Momoa).

Despite their age, Riggs’ recklessness and Murtaugh’s cautious wisdom prove to be the perfect combination for one last ride. Explosive car chases, high-octane shootouts, and the duo’s signature buddy-cop humor bring back the essence of the franchise. But as the stakes rise, they realize this time, not everyone might make it out alive.

Lethal Weapon 5 delivers a satisfying blend of nostalgia and fresh action. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover seamlessly step back into their iconic roles, bringing both humor and heart to their performances. The film balances thrilling action sequences with emotional weight, making it more than just another sequel—it’s a farewell letter to one of the greatest buddy-cop duos in cinema history.
